New partnership delivers free, high-impact training to WIFI members through IFI’s world-class educational programs
[July 29, 2025] — In a bold step toward expanding opportunity and expertise in the fastener industry, Women in the Fastener Industry (WIFI) and the Industrial Fasteners Institute (IFI) have joined forces to launch EmpowerHER: WIFI x IFI. This new initiative provides WIFI members with exclusive access to no-cost, high-value technical training through IFI’s acclaimed webinars and in-person seminars.
Thanks to IFI’s generous sponsorship, WIFI will award two complimentary registrations for each upcoming training event—selected via a randomized process open to all active members. The application form is now live at https://www.fastenerwomen.com/wifixifi where members can express interest in multiple sessions with a simple checkbox format. WIFI encourages its corporate members and sponsors to share this opportunity internally across their organizations to bring greater awareness to the program and ensure women in their companies have the opportunity to apply.
Upcoming IFI training events include:
- September 12: Webinar – Strategies for Light Weighting
- October 28: Training – How to Read and Understand Prints (in-person)
- November 14: Webinar – Phosphate Coating
“I have deep passion for both WIFI and IFI, and I’m truly excited to see what can happen when we drive greater engagement between our communities,” said Taryn Goodman, President of WIFI and Co-Owner of Industrial Rivet & Fastener Co., a proud IFI corporate member. “At WIFI, we’re always looking for new ways to deliver more value to our members—especially through networking, education, and mentorship. This initiative helps advance all three.”
“IFI is proud to sponsor these training scholarships for WIFI members,” added Dan Walker, Managing Director of IFI. “WIFI already delivers strong value through mentorship and other member benefits. By adding this program, we’re opening doors to world-class training and helping more women learn, advance, and build lasting careers in our industry. We look forward to welcoming WIFI participants into our upcoming classes.”
