IFI Spring Meeting 2025: A Recap of Innovation, Connection, and Fun!

The IFI Spring Meeting 2025 in Hollywood, Florida, was a resounding success! Members from across the fastener industry gathered for a week of learning, networking, and collaboration. From insightful presentations to exciting social events, the meeting provided a valuable experience for all attendees.

Knowledge Sharing and Industry Insights:

The meeting kicked off with a compelling keynote from Jim Wells of LNS Research, setting the stage for discussions on the latest industry trends. Attendees also benefited from government affairs updates from Jennifer Reid and technical insights from Salim Brahimi. Day two featured an economic outlook from Taylor St. Germain of ITR Economics, followed by a fascinating look at the application of AI in manufacturing from Jill Klein & Oscar De Leon of CDW.

Celebrating Excellence and Leadership:

The annual awards dinner recognized outstanding contributions to the fastener industry. Baohong Cao received the Soaring Eagle Technology Award, Carmen Vertullo was honored with the Soaring Eagle Service Award, and Austin Washburn was presented with the Joe Greenslade Young Leadership Award. The meeting also saw the election of new board leadership, with Larry Spelman of J.H. Botts, LLC, named Chairman and Kevin Vollmert of ITW Shakeproof, as Vice Chair.

Networking and Recreation:

Beyond the valuable educational sessions, the IFI Spring Meeting offered ample opportunities for networking and relationship building. Attendees enjoyed a welcome reception at the Margaritaville Resort’s License to Chill Pool Deck, golf and deep-sea fishing excursions, and a relaxing kayaking trip at West Lake Park.
