For this month’s Member Spotlight, we are excited to feature Nic Krause, the President of J&M Plating. Nic has been a dedicated member of the Industrial Fasteners Institute (IFI) for approximately five years, bringing a wealth of industry experience to our community.

Nic has been with J&M Plating for 11 years, leading a company that is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Based as a premier fastener finishing company, J&M Plating operates as a full-service provider. Their extensive capabilities include heat treating, corrosion-resistant coatings, patch applications, automated sorting, and accredited laboratory services.

While their technical services are vast, Nic emphasizes that J&M Plating prides itself most on being a “solutions provider” for its customers.

For Nic, the true value of IFI membership lies in the ability to collaborate with other business leaders. He finds great benefit in getting into the same room with peers to discuss industry challenges, analyze current trends, and strategize for the future.

Nic also highlights the importance of the collective advocacy IFI provides. He encourages members to use the organization’s voice, specifically noting the significant benefits of initiatives such as the government affairs fly-ins.

When asked to describe the IFI community, Nic chooses a word that resonates within our industry: Family.

“There are a lot of people fighting similar battles here,” Nic says, “and together we can overcome any of them”.
